From Classroom to Career Opportunity

Supporting Santa Monica College’s Biotechnology Program

Santa Monica College engaged CWA to design and deliver a biotechnology-focused career-development series for students preparing for internships and employment. CWA customized the training, materials, and career strategies to the biotechnology industry and student audience. The program included resume development, LinkedIn strategy, interview preparation, and mock interviews with biotechnology professionals from across California. The mock interviews provided more than practice. Students received direct industry feedback, expanded their professional relationships, and began building potential advocates within the field. The strength of the engagement contributed to a referral to Pasadena City College. CWA was subsequently included as a proposed career-training partner in Pasadena City College’s pending CIRM Bridges grant application. Customized training. Employer connection. Institutional trust. Expanded opportunity.
