From Pitch to Business Opportunity: The Guzo Coffee Story

The Guzo Coffee Story

Through Ethiopian Legacy’s FOUNDERS Conference and Pitch Competition, developed in partnership with the Ethiopian American Chamber of Commerce, Guzo Coffee gained preparation, visibility, feedback, and access to a broader business network. In addition to receiving a cash prize, the company developed three immediate opportunities: a recurring venue for its traveling coffee business, a potential location connected to a new Los Angeles Metro line, and an opportunity related to FIFA World Cup operations. The story reflects CWA’s approach to founder readiness: help entrepreneurs communicate their value, strengthen credibility, build relationships, and turn visibility into business opportunity. Training becomes more powerful when it opens doors.
